SONY IMX291 SDI Board (23 x 23)

This board adopts with SONY CMOS sensor Starvis technology which can reach to 1080P HD resolution (2 million pixels) in very low lux vision, but it's still in very small size, only 23mm x 23mm .

What's Starvis

SONY IMX291 CMOS Overview :

Image sensors with STARVIS/STARVIS 2 technology can capture images in the low light environment with details such as colors, shapes, and textures of the objects, which conventional front-illuminated image sensors are unable to.

The IMX291 is a STARVIS back-illuminated CMOS image sensors. The Starvis technology features a high sensitivity and realizes high picture quality in the visible-light and near infrared light regions. The sensor is also equipped with Sony’s Exmor R technology which provides an enhanced imaging performance especially a higher sensitivity and low noise. The IMX291LQR is a color CMOS sensor with a diagonal of 6.46mm (type 1/2.8) with a pixel size of 2.9μm square and 2.13MP effective resolution. The IMX291LQR has a paralell, Serial LVDS and a MIPI output and achieves a maximum frame rate of 30fps at full resolution.

The current module size is 23mm x 23mm in very small form factor. 

The release of IMX291 CMOS sensor enables manufacturers to produce cost-effective high quality HD video products with SONY Starvis technology under real time video transportation, but still with low production cost.
